Key InformationFood at Adventure Wellbeing School
Adventure Wellbeing School provides breakfast, a mid-morning snack and a hot two-course lunch for every child, free of charge.
Eating well, every day
Our meals come from Apetito, who cater specifically for schools. Their chefs and in-house dietitian build every dish to be nutritionally balanced, and we hold the full ingredient list and nutritional information for all of them.
Each day there is a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian main, plus dessert, with free-from, cultural and texture-modified options from the same kitchen, so no child feels different. We cater for each child’s dietary requirements.
Apetito is an Independent Schools Association Gold Preferred Supplier.
If your child brings a packed lunch
You are welcome to send your child in with a packed lunch instead. We do encourage healthy eating. If you would like ideas for lunches your child will actually eat, just ask us.
We are a nut-free school, so please do not send nuts in, as some children have allergies.
Children who eat a small range of food
We know that many of our children eat only a few things, and that a safe food is not fussiness. It is what makes eating possible at all.
Where a child is ready to try something new, we do it slowly, alongside them, and at their pace. Any progress with food is treated as the achievement it is.
Allergies and special diets
Apetito caters for allergens and intolerances, and allergens are clearly labelled on every meal and at the point we order it, so what a child is given can be checked rather than assumed.
Please tell us about every allergy, intolerance and dietary requirement before your child starts, and we will record it and plan around it. If anything changes, tell us straight away.
